XL 550 is an easy to operate slip-form kerb laying machine. Is can be used to make concrete dividers that are straight, levelled and of precise shape. It is track mounted design which ensures maximum stability.

A fully hydrostatic drive with infinitely variable vibrator controls, fully automatic electronic line, grade and level sensor controls and a choice of a wide range of mould designs to suit your kerb laying applications. The side mounted mould design allows changing of mould within 30 minutes which is a big advantages when working with different designs.

WEIGHING-CHARGING CONVEYOR

The feeding conveyor is responsible for transferring the aggregates into the mixing drum.

AGGREGATE WEIGHING CONVEYOR

The aggregate weighing conveyor is situated just under the unit used for aggregate feeding. It is effectively suspended on four load cells. This weighing conveyor helps in weighing the aggregates individually and then transferring them into the feeding conveyor.

HYDROSTATIC DRIVE

The XL 550 is mounted on steel tracks to ensure maximum stability and gradability. A completely dedicated drive pump with a world class torque hub, heat treated sprockets and an easy track adjuster ensure that there is no stopping - of your productivity and profits. A technically advanced hydrostatic direct traction drive eliminates the need for a large number of mechanical drive train components, thereby ensuring lower maintenance costs and smoother operations..

SENSORS

The XL 550 is equipped with full proportional automatic electronic controls. The auto steering control guides the front of the machine for precise alignment. The grade controller positions respective lift cylinders for precise grade. A slope control positions the rear lift cylinder to maintain precise slope. The automatic controls are also supplied with manual overrides and are easy to operate and adjust.

QUICK CHANGE MOULD DESIGN

The XL 550 is supplied with a quick-change mould mechanism. The moulds can so easily be changed that within 30 minutes you would be up and paving a new mould profile.

MANOEUVERABILITY

The XL 550 has been ergonomically designed in order to offer the operator easy accessibility to machine components, high visibility on kerb forming, easy machine operations and machine controls always at your fingertips. The machine adjustments for speed and vibrations are quickly verified, as the formed concrete is right beside the operator.

ENGINE

The XL 550 is loaded with a 27 kW (36 HP) four cylindered, four stroke water cooled diesel engine ideal for this application with enough extra power.

VIBRATOR

The XL 550 is equipped with industry standard fully variable vibrators, enhancing the machine's capability to adapt to different slump levels in the concrete mix.
