A Tanzanian road contractor needed a high-output asphalt plant that could move with their projects across Zanzibar’s road network — without compromising on production quality or reliability.
The contractor needed 120–150 TPH production capacity — enough for large road projects — but could not afford a stationary plant that locks them to one site.
Zanzibar’s road construction sites demand equipment that sets up quickly, runs reliably without nearby service infrastructure, and withstands tropical site conditions.
Before committing to a capital equipment order of this scale, the contractor needed to be certain of build quality and after-sales support. They visited the Atlas factory in Mehsana, Gujarat multiple times, reviewed each machine in detail, and evaluated Atlas against other manufacturers.

1 × Atlas 120–150 TPH Mobile Double Drum Mix Plant with counterflow drum technology, operator-friendly control panel with recipe storage, and a reliable low-noise burner package — all mounted on a sturdy mobile chassis.
The counterflow drum heats aggregate efficiently by moving material against the direction of exhaust gases, maximising heat transfer. The secondary mixing drum then blends the mix to a consistency that outperforms single-drum plants.
All components are chassis-mounted for fast transport and setup between project sites. The plant is engineered for durability in remote conditions where downtime is not an option.
Atlas service engineers travel to the site to supervise erection and commissioning — not a manual and a phone number.
“We evaluated several manufacturers before choosing Atlas. The plant arrived on schedule, set up faster than expected, and has been running without issues across our Zanzibar sites. The after-sales support from the Atlas team made the difference.”
